Webber was engaged by Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) to design and deliver a new fire station in Mount Druitt. The project relocates 16 permanent firefighters and their equipment into a modern, purpose-built station designed to meet current and future operational needs.
The new facility aligns with FRNSW’s goal of enhancing service delivery through a centralised, efficient and safe environment. The station provides improved work health and safety standards, rapid response capability, and well-equipped amenities to support local emergency services.
Constructed from precast concrete, face brick and lightweight cladding with corrugated metal roofing, the design balances durability and visual clarity. Surrounding landscaped areas include a concreted driveway, car park and training zones set among mature trees, maintaining a connection to the local environment.
Sustainability features include photovoltaic panels, a solar hot water system, and water-efficient fittings. Externally, a floodlit drill yard, hose drying pole and dedicated training area support firefighter readiness, while illuminated signage and civic detailing strengthen the station’s presence in the community.
The new Mount Druitt Fire Station delivers a resilient, energy-efficient and fit-for-purpose facility that enhances operational performance and reinforces FRNSW’s commitment to protecting the Mount Druitt community.
