The alterations to Macquarie Hills Pre-School are now complete. This project included alterations to the pre-school grounds with inclusions such as a new soft fall climbing slope, slides, sandpits, shading devices, vege patch and landscaping such as retaining walls and fencing.
This facility is now ready for kids to get in and play. Some of the considerations and safety features of this project included a new shading device over the new sandpit to protect children from the sun, soft fall ground cover to minimise falling injuries on the new climbing bumps, a non-trip platform at the top of the slide, which has been designed to sit level with the new paving to avoid children tripping on the platform and new retaining walls and fences.
The pre-school now proves to be an exciting place for children to explore and participate in social play. The incorporation of the dry creek bed and new vege patch is great to educate children about gardening as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, a wonderful way for children to become involved and learn at the same time.
